Yesterday, Césan d’Ornellas Levine and I had the opening of our 2 person show, Roots. I was so warmed by the wonderful community that I have that drove an hour and a half through sleet and snow to come to the opening in Collingwood. Thank you so very much!! It meant so much to me to have all of you there.
I am also so thankful to the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts and our curator Lenore Burton for all that they have done.
Here are a few pics that my father and I took during the opening.
I was delighted to be paired with Césan d’Ornellas Levine. She is an absolutely lovely woman and it was so good to finally meet her. Although our work may at first seem very different, both play on the themes of childhood and our intimate encounters with nature and the world around us that we experienced as children. Césan’s work draws from her memories of touch, of feeling the ancient petroglyphs that now reside in a building near Peterborough Ontario. http://www.cesan.ca/Cesan_Fine_Art/Home.html
Thank you to the Ontario Arts Council for your support.
